02 – Beer Tour of Freiburg
Many artisans used to live and work along the trade canal in the medieval “Schneckenvorstadt”. We will take you on an interesting and entertaining journey into the world of gemstone grinders, tanners, barbers and brewers. We’ll make a few stops along the way for a small snack and a freshly tapped beer.

03 – Chocolate Tour
400 years of the Habsburgs have shaped Freiburg’s coffee-house tradition. On our leisurely stroll through the historic old town you will experience the sweet side of Freiburg’s history.

04 – “City, Gates and Storytellers“ – The Cathedral-Walk
Follow the trusty horse groom Lambert of Fryeburg (or his charming wife Hiltrud) on a walk through narrow alleyways and secret courtyards. Find out how the old town wall, the gates and our famous “Bächle” came to be built. What happened when Freiburg came under siege? Who killed Master Konrad? Hear of Butcher Hauri’s ruthless deed, and see for yourself what´s left from the Middle Ages.

05 – Classic City Tour of Freiburg
Discover with us the “praying devil”, “black Berthold” and the “lange Rote” (Freiburg’s famous red sausage). During our entertaining tour through the historic inner city you will visit Freiburg’s most important landmarks and hear stories about the “Bobbele” and their city. Join us as we follow Freiburg’s “Bächle” (small waterways) to stately townhouses such as the “Haus zum Whalfisch” and magnificent buildings such as the city’s “Historisches Kaufhaus” (Historical Department Store) and the “green Rathaus” (City Hall). A highlight of the tour is Freiburg’s famous medieval landmark, the Münster Cathedral.

06 – Delicious Freiburg – a journey through the culinary history of the city
On this exciting tour you will hear numerous anecdotes about the city’s governors and the culinary traditions they left behind. What would Freiburg be without “Schwarzwälder Schinken” (Black Forest ham), a “Markgraefler Gutedel” (Chasselas) or “Guglhupf” (ring cake)? This tour will not only appeal to the eyes and ears – taste your way through Freiburg’s history!

07 – Freiburg Bicycle City Tour
On this tour we will guide you around our bicycle friendly city to historical places, innovative areas, impressive viewing points and through the picturesque historic city centre.
On this circuit you will get to know the promising and rich in contrast. According to Freiburg’s motto ‘Nur net huddle’ (don’t rush but enjoy) we will have a break at a Biergarten. We will gently roll back to our starting point along the river Dreisam, the Bächle (small road side streams) and through alleys.

08 – Ganter Brewery Tour
An actress will take you on an entertaining tour of Freiburg’s renowned Ganter Brewery. The tour includes a beer glass to take home, a “Zwickelbier” tasting during the tour and one free drink with a Brezel in the Kesselbar after the tour.

10 – Schloßberg walking tour with beautiful views over Freiburg
This sporty walking tour will take you through the forest and along the Schlossberg (“castle mountain”) overlooking Freiburg. Enjoy the bird’s-eye views of Freiburg from above and learn about the history of this lively city. Along the way we will stop for a wine tasting in the wine yard so that you can relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.

13 – Wine Tour of Freiburg
“You have to sip, not guzzle!” is an old Alemannic wine saying. Did you know that there was a purity law for wine making which originated in Freiburg at the end of the 15th Century? Or that the Pastor of St. Martin founded the first Baden winemaking cooperative? Or that Freiburg is the biggest wine-producing city in Germany?
Our tour to picturesque facades and historic wine cellars offers an insight into the history of Freiburg and winemaking. And no wine tour would ever be complete without a wine tasting!
